- Self-rising flour = 300 grams
- Dried mix fruit = 375 grams
- Strong tea = 300 ml
- Light muscovado sugar = 250 grams
- Egg = 1 beaten
- Butter to grease the baking dish
Instructions For Mary Berry Bara Brith Bread Recipe
Step 1
Soak dried fruit in strong tea brew, add sugar and mix it, keep aside overnight for steep.
Step 2
Preheat oven to 150C, grease your baking tins using some butter.
Step 3
After overnight steep or minimum 8 hours, add egg in fruit mixture and stir.
Step 4
Now add self-rising flour and make a smooth mixture while beating.
Step 5
Place this mixture in greased baking tin, make sure upper surface is fine even.
Step 6
Bake it in oven for up to one and half hour or until bread become dark brown.
Step 7
Remove from the oven and let it cool for 15 to 20 minutes, then transfer in a tray and cut in slices and let it cool down completely.
