- Lemon Juice = 3 tbsp
- Cornstarch = 1 Cup
- Nutmeg = 1/2 tsp
- Salt = 1 1/2 tsp
- Sugar = 4 1/2 Cup
- Water = 10 Cup
How To Canning Apple Pie Filling – Full Recipe
Step 1
Take a large pot and add water (half full) add your jars for sterilizing by boiling in water for 2 minutes.
Step 2
Dry all jars and fill them with apple slices as possible.
Step 3
In another pot add water, cornstarch, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt, and cook until thickened, Stir often.
Step 4
Remove from the stove add lemon juice and mix properly.
Step 5
Fill each jar with hot syrup, leaving about 1 inch of space from the top.
Step 6
Airtight each jar with a sterilized lid and band and add to simmering water, be sure the jar is properly dipped in water on a standing position, cover the pot, and boil for 20 minutes.
Step 7
Remove Jars from the pot and let them cool at room temperature for 24 hours.
