Canning Apple Pie Filling Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 7 Pound Fresh Apples (Peeled and Sliced) 
  • 3 tbsp Lemon Juice 
  • 1 Cup Cornstarch 
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg 
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 4 1/2 Cup Sugar 
  • 10 Cup Water 

Instructions
 

  • Take a large pot and add water (half full) add your jars for sterilizing by boiling in water for 2 minutes.
  • Dry all jars and fill them with apple slices as possible.
  • In another pot add water, cornstarch, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt, and cook until thickened, Stir often.
  • Remove from the stove add lemon juice and mix properly.
  • Fill each jar with hot syrup, leaving about 1 inch of space from the top.
  • Airtight each jar with a sterilized lid and band and add to simmering water, be sure the jar is properly dipped in water on a standing position, cover the pot, and boil for 20 minutes.
  • Remove Jars from the pot and let them cool at room temperature for 24 hours.
  • Be sure each jar is properly sealed and airtight. Enjoy whenever you want.
