Unagi Sushi (BBQ EEL Nigiri)

Unagi Sushi is a delicious Japanese dish, it is a combination of BBQ grilled freshwater eel and seasoned sushi rice with sweet and savory sauce. Today we are sharing original and professional recipe of Unagi Nigiri, also known as eel sushi or ungai sushi. This super-easy recipe has a salty and rich sweet flavor with smoky meaty texture of eel.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Cooked Sushi Rice
  • 8 Oz BBQ Grilled Unagi (eel) 
  • 1/2 tbsp Powdered Sugar 
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Unagi Sauce
  • Strips of Nori Seaweed
  • Toasted Sesame Seeds

Instructions
 

  • Cut cooked & grilled unagi into equal pieces in 1 inch size.
  • Take cooked rice in a bowl and add sugar, salt and rice vinegar mix until sugar dissolved properly in rice.
  • With wet hands make oblong shape pieces of sushi rice, 15g each.
  • Now place a piece of grilled unagi on top of shaped season rice and brush the top of eel piece with unagi sushi sauce.
  • Wrap the combination of eel and season rice piece with nori around the middle.
  • Your Unagi Sushi is ready, before serving garnish some toasted sesame seeds.
    Serve with soya sauce and ginger.
